I don’t get it cos people of colour should be cast in all of the roles of any script. Whatever story is being told can be told by folks of any colour ffs!!
-
when you switch a characters race and ignore how those characters would be treated differently just shows the writer does not understand how other races move through the world its like hiring more black folks at work but not changing the structure that harmed them to begin with

every time a brand responds their lineup by simply casting Black ppl, it feels wrong & lazy. are there Black ppl in Alaska, sure but why? how? was Granny that general store's first hire in 1938, maybe, but it was not a casual feat. yet these writers give us the same tired tales.
-
*expands their lineup. autocorrect is a wicked troll.

This is part of why I like The Flash tv show. Having a diverse cast just plain makes a better show. Ditto all the Star Treks.
-
That used to be an appeal to me when I first started watching The Flash. But then I noticed the writing didn't allow any of the minority characters to be ethnic.

It makes you notice what’s missing too. How in the world could Christopher Nolan mount such a world spanning production such as Tenet and not cast one single Black woman in a major role? Not even a featured secondary role or extra. What the hell???
-
There's just one major female role in that movie.
