    Trusted local election officials are painstakingly counting every legally cast vote. The election will be over when and only when their work is done. This is exactly how it’s supposed to work. We owe them our respect, our thanks and our patience.

    Counting ballots after Election Day is normal, common, lawful, and essential to the integrity of the final results.

    Workers have been counting 140+M ballots for only 36 hours. They are still counting in EVERY state. Some states have margins so wide these remaining ballots can't make a difference, but what's happening in those states is much the same as what's happening in swing states.

    Our Sec of State is right. With historic turnout and all the safety measures in place to protect us from COVID-19, local election officials are taking the time they need to county every legally cast ballot. That’s exactly how it’s supposed to happen and designed to happen.

    Be patient, Minnesota. The system this year for counting ballots was designed to take more time. We’re prioritizing safety, security, and accuracy over speed. We need to get it right, and we will.

    Simple reminder: during COVID19 and with historically high turnout, counting all legally cast votes will take time. That’s what we expected and is totally normal. Regardless of what anyone else claims, the election is over when and only when all legally cast votes are counted.

    With 134 of 136 precincts reporting, it looks like the good people of Minneapolis will be sending my mom back to the school board! A caring person and a relentless advocate for children, I’m so happy to see her pull off this resounding victory! Congrats !

    Minnesotans, a delay means our system is working and every legally cast vote is being counted. It’s going to take longer to count all votes this year for 3 simple reasons. 1) High turnout 2) Mail in ballots take longer to count 3) Slower counts because of COVID precautions
