I don't know the story at all but there are always cases where it makes sense to let the kids play. JMO

so if the attitude is just let the kid play, should there be rules regarding transferring? would set a horrible precedent.

Why would a rule prohibit a student athlete from leaving a private school to attend a public school?

so they can't flock to one school to further their athletic career. private->public, public->private, public->public all same
