Really hoping the Tiktok/YouTube discourse around Ep 3 of the Last of Us looks at the themes, the emotional beats and the sheer skill of covering a 16-year love affair in one hour, rather than 'here are ten easter eggs you may have missed'

Pre-ordered this after hearing the author on Radio 4 this morning - looks really interesting. Not sure if video games come into the remit but I bet there is plenty of relevance

I also got to try ’s brilliant new creativity project Downpour which lets you build interactive game/narrative projects with just your phone. I made a story about a hippo and a car. It’s so clever and intuitive to use and it’s out this summer

EXCL: Dominic Raab facing much broader bullying investigation than originally anticipated with at least 24 civil servants involved in formal complaints against him. Govt insiders believe severity of claims means DPM will struggle to survive in post. theguardian.com/politics/2023/

My least favourite comment under any culture article is "this is nothing new". Unless the writer explicitly claims "this event/phenomenon is absolutely original and has never been done before in history!" we should just silently acknowledge that all art has precedents. Thanks bye

Hi I am writing the Guardian's Pushing Buttons games newsletter today and I need something for the Question Block part. Do you have a question you'd like to ask me about games? Please now ask that question

hi, I really need to speak to someone who knows about the fashion industry's relationship with digital culture/technology. If anyone knows anyone I would be really grateful!

I watched Bodies Bodies Bodies. It is currently my favourite satire on Gen Z social constructs and the disasters that befall us if we rely on meme-driven discourse and ineffective and ambiguous digital platforms for communication. Three stars.

Another reason to love libraries - my one in frome sells off its old rental dvds for 20p each and look at these treasures! The only Ben Wheatley and Argento films I haven’t seen, plus zombie nazis!!

Excited to share with you a new audio project, 'My Perfect Console', a series of interviews with interesting people from video games, film, music and comedy. Each week I ask a guest to pick the five video games they want to immortalise on their very own fictional console.

This is such a great feature!! I used to write a bit for What DVD magazine in the early 2000s and the menus were often the best part

“It can be liberating to be confronted with the insignificance of your life’s work.” I wrote about the lost art of DVD menus and spoke with designers about the golden age: theguardian.com/film/2023/jan/

It's all very well Harry's book breaking records but this is going to put a lot of undue pressure on *all* authors to be fifth in line to the throne and that feels unfair in the current publishing environment
