Companies like @gmg and @JukinMedia are making it so Tik Tok creators earn money off Youtube compilations.
Both the compilation channels and the copyright distribution networks seem to be in direct violation of Tik Toks TOS.

Yet Tik Tok seems to work with and sponsor Youtube Compilation channels. (Source
@CowbellyTV) I’m not sure how Tik Tok feels about other third parties monetizing off of their intellectual property.@TaylorLorenz@tiktok_us2 replies 0 retweets 0 likesShow this thread -

Is this a joke? Vine was the warm up, TikTok’s the final act TOS or not - we add immense value, create ad tech markets and are the fastest growing network on every social platform of all time
I love telling people we’re the first company that was able to monetize TikTok1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

No I’m not joking. I mention TOS because as it’s read on Tik Toks Legal Page. A Tik Tok creator can be banned for violating these terms for sub licensing. It may be this way simply due to the immense amount of intellectual property (mostly music) used on the platform.pic.twitter.com/QvuEVo0zvb

In terms of “giving creators a way to re-invest” The main source of revenue for them would be compilation channels. These compilation channels feature upwards of 80-100 creators in a single video. With the revenue being shared with music companies like UMG and others

So as a result these creators are getting a tiny piece of the pie considering
@GMG takes a cut to be able to run.@keaton being a Youtuber yourself you know saying compilation channels make Adsense is misleading. As@TeamYouTube has cracked down on reused content.pic.twitter.com/VsyuH6RT07

The vast majority of the revenue made by the channels come in the form of affiliate marketing and sponsorships, some from Tik Tok themself.

I would love for all creators of content to make money and continue having creative freedom. What I don’t want to see is a company come in and act as the UMG Of video. This is not meant to be an attack on you or your company I’m just concerned for what it means in the future.
