I read a bunch about this a few months ago, and I was sort of astonished at the lack of actual scientific work on the question. It's crazy that Chinese scientists "just know" that viral spreads are airborne and Western scientists "just know" that they aren't.

The part I never got clear on is why this was a difficult question. It doesn't really seem all that hard to model and test for various sizes of viruses.

There was plenty of contact tracing data to support aerosol transmission. Why the both-sides-ing?

What on earth are you talking about? They didn’t “just know”. There was work before including, crucially, from SARS. Why did Western science drag its feet (and still does) is a good question. The idea that Asian scientists had baseless beliefs is utter nonsense.

There's 100% empirical work done by air flow physicists working on this topic, the American medical establishment just stonewalled them.

…they didn’t “just know,” they just had evidence that everyone else ignored

If Western countries admit that it's airborne outright, then they also have to admit that lockdowns are really the only foolproof mitigation, which thereby makes them admit that they're only doing other mitigations so Capital keeps on chugging along at expense of labor's lives.

Hmm.. the research implied by this is not ethical — full stop. There may be observational hints, there may be previous respiratory contagion studies but this is a BSL-3 virus; as a result no data by definition can exist outside of accidental events.

You might have read something that was polluted by biased ID docs, who like to muddy the waters for liability purposes. These are just some studies that have been released in August 2021, but there was an avalanche of evidence before this. It has been proven, over and over.pic.twitter.com/6uixFSvBeP
