Yesterday released a report that reaffirms the need to accelerate efforts for zero-emission trucks. Trucks make up 6% of vehicles on the road but 52% of particulate pollution - eviscerating air quality in Black & Brown communities.

And while this committee report is on the right track, as it stands now the programs may not be in place before the eviction moratorium ends, resulting in evictions that lead to homelessness. Tomorrow is our opportunity to get this right - show up, make your voice heard.

. and I worked w/ to add tenant protection amendments that ensure Universal Just Cause, require landlords to file any eviction notices w/ LA City, & robust in-language outreach for vulnerable communities are in place before emergency protections are lifted

Up until last year, I had been a renter all my life. Growing up, my family survived paycheck to paycheck on the margins – and that was without a catastrophic event like Covid-19. Tomorrow the City Council votes on tenant protections related to the city’s eviction moratorium 🧵

I’m shocked and saddened over this tragedy. A graduate from USC, I had to honor to meet him formally in Tokyo and engage on issues regarding CA and Los Angeles. This loss is a loss for the entire world.
