This article is a *fantastic* read. “Being ’average’ has become the new standard of failure. The worst thing you can be is in the middle of the pack, the middle of the bell curve.” https://markmanson.net/being-average/amp …pic.twitter.com/GO1efA24hR

When I was young, I titled my photo album "The story of an OK kid." I was, and am, cool with that.

At such a young age, wow! It took me until my late 30s to embrace my mediocrity.

I don't think this undermines the point of what the article is saying in general but I'd like to jump in here and point out there is a huge math red flag here: Never automatically assume a bell-curve distribution. Most things aren't actually distributed that way.

for example it's not likely that 60% of the population is "just okay" at dunking a basketball (although of course I am amazing at it and dunk constantly all the time)

I talk about this and the Perils of Being a Generalist all the time. Like most w/ADHD, I dabble. I like to do a bit of this, that, etc. I like to get better at things...to a point. Sometimes then I’m done w/the thing. Sometimes I keep going on. It varies. And I like to do many.
