Yes. No mission can fly until the one before it flies successfully.

Off the same Range or in general?

How soon could the Heavy launch occur if GovSat goes on the 30th?

GovSat is not what will drive Falcon Heavy's launch date. That will be determined by team, vehicle, and data readiness.

Of course not, except that Heavy can't fly until after GovSat. Everyone is wondering: Assuming everything else goes swimmingly, what's the minimum time for turning around the range and preparing for the Heavy for launch? A day? A week?

Turning the Range around? 16-36 hours. Getting the Heavy ready to go after GovSat? A few days to a week... if everything goes perfectly.

So maybe just before the next government shutdown. Space reporters everywhere are penciling in the first week of February for a trip to Florida. Thnx.

"So maybe just before the next government shutdown". Oh, that made me laugh, then cry. Yeah, based on Elon and Gwynne's statements, early Feb. seems right.

Yeah, talk about schedule pressure.

"Early February" is next week. If they launch the 9 on Tuesday, ought to be able to launch the Heavy later in the week. I'm flying Monday so I'll at least see the first launch.

Still overly optimistic with the launch date. You’re going to hang out for a week at the Cape?
