Disagree. Context is visibility of asteroids 'inside' Earth's orbits, not of planets. Makes zero sense in context. /1

Yes, and LSST has a huge mirror and thus can see much dimmer objects. Mainzer was making argument of geometry to Myhrvold.

Venus is a 12,000 kilometers wide planet, large asteroids are few hundred km. How is Venus even relevant here???!!!
