Testing has been growing substantially (good). But it wouldn't be at a steady exponential rate to explain the steady exponential growth of confirmed cases. It might well explain the slight upturn in the curve (on the log-linear graph) the last few days.

Agreed, spreading rate > testing rate; R0>>1 the main contributor to exponential growth. Lock down, aggressively ramping up test and isolation is the only way to bend the curve.
