Maybe, but again, globally 1.25 million people die from auto fatalities, globally. People are making a sensation out of this. The media and the governments are engaging in scare tactics, and I'm not sure if it's incompetence or malice that's doing it.

If the rate of auto accidents were increasing exponentially, it would merit equal alarm. But it's pretty steady that has been declining (per mile traveled) because cars are much safer today than 30 years ago.
