Ur writeup has good coverage n thx for writing for Chandrayaan 2. One question: it is clear from all analysis dat signal was lost much BEFORE the lander reached surface. What can cause such signal loss in mid air?

Correct. If you look at the plot of the trajectory, everything is spot-on until an altitude of 2.1 km. Then the red and green lines diverge. Loss of signal is much closer to the ground. At least that’s what it looks like. ISRO has not elaborated.
