That's a disappointing statement.
When you want an affordable yet hi-tech phone or gadgetry in the present day, then why can't attempts be made to have economic space missions.
All our @isro Missions have made it surely possible and it's incredible.

Just like you probably don't want the cheapest phone, but rather one that's a good value for the money, there are trade-offs between the price tag and the return on investment.

Is your happiness driven by the fact that your employer is
@nytimes, which has been in a hate campaign against India of late? -
Would have been much happier with a successful landing.

Correction. The costlier approach is not necessarily better. Or to be precise, a cheaper approach that fails is as good as a costlier approach that succeeds.

ISRO is trying to take a smart, more efficient approach to space missions, which could push the boundaries at a lower cost. That’s good. But there’s a learning curve. Sometimes it turns out you do need the extra test and the extra redundant system. And then it’s not as cheap.

And apparently you are happy. Any specific reason to be happy, when a scientific mission of mankind has just (apparently) failed ?
