It’s meant to get people to learn the rules, the same as all the posts about to, two, and too. Or better, lose and loose. I can’t believe the number of 8th grade graduates that don’t understand all of this stuff with great ease. There is no ambiguity about this math,
You should never mix ÷ (elementary math) with implied multiplication (algebra where division is expressed as fractions — exactly to avoid this ambiguity).

Anyone who needs the over and under written form of a fraction for its implied parenthetical statements, vs the single line for as written in text on Twitter or in a macro function in any programming language ever. People need to learn the rules somehow. I guess some don’t care.

This goes beyond demonstrating the rules to the absurd. The problem with something this extreme is that mathematicians, engineers and scientists don't agree on what the rules even are.

Multiplication and division are same priority, and done from left to right. Same goes for addition and subtraction. There is no debate there. I agree. Not something I like to get sucked into either, but when someone at the times says something unintelligible, I can’t say nothing.
