I love that problem's solution, N choose 3! I feel I must point out, the problem requires one more stipulation, not mentioned in your piece: no more than 2 lines may intersect at a point (i.e. you cannot have 3 or more lines cross an intersection).
Yes indeed. But I’m asking about the number of triangles in that particular diagram where there are not three lines through one point. Didn’t want to lard too much detail in there but if I were making a precise general statement, you’re absolutely correct.
