      So driverless cars are abandoned by their drivers. You’re certainly not calling them undrivered. And stains have abandoned stainless steel.

          English is funny. In a weird way. Why do we drive in parkways, and park in driveways? Context is all.

          We say "driverless cars" because we aren't used to cars without drivers. Space missions have always been able to go either way. At least in a design sense.
