Which means NASA isn't adding much to the debt and cutting (even killing) NASA wouldn't noticeably move the needle on government spending.

This is a much bigger debate, but I don't particularly want to live in a country with no government. Can certainly be better government, would be nice to trim unnecessary government, but also (personally) willing to pay to make some things better.
