The success of our reduced summer youth fare demonstrates the need to make riding the bus, train, streetcar, and water taxi affordable for young people.

ORCA Opportunity makes that a reality for Seattle high school students – our next generation of thinkers, doers, and transit commuters.

Why can't they just bring back yellow school bus service to middle and high school students? Much safer than public transit!

Love this but why only public HS students? Many others need and could use it as well, and we (their parents) pay the same taxes.

Mayor Jenny Durkan plans to provide free transit to all of Seattle’s public high-school students How generous of her. She must have a lot of money or she will use ST3 dollars. Are you and @DerekMYoung regretting your ST3 endorsement? @justincamarata

So to make Seattle “more affoardable” @MayorJenny is going to spend more tax dollars on a program that is sure to be full of fraudulent use and make it more expensive to use public transportation and increase taxes. All these programs just take from one area to give to another

And how will it be addressed when some of the high-school kids sell their bus passes? It will happen. The question is what will you all do to prevent it from happening?
