      In their 63 years of marriage, she served as a trusted advisor to her husband as he advanced in the political ranks from County Commissioner, to County Executive, to Governor.

      Her personal focus throughout her life was feeding the community’s hungry, and she and Gov. Spellman worked side by side to increase public and private support for food banks and feeding programs.

      My heart goes out to the Spellman family at this moment of profound loss. May they be comforted by the knowledge of all the good that Lois and John did for our county and state.
