There are currently 3 felony cases engaged in Peacemaking. We need to bring this demanding but redemptive practice to scale.

This program is another step toward zero youth incarceration. But we must also answer the question: how do we keep every kid in school?

Important work must be done w/ educators & school districts; we know the wrong path starts w/ a skipped class or a suspension or expulsion.

Until we reach zero youth incarceration, there will be a need for secure detention—both for the public & youth.

But understand: KC is united on pushing forward w/ the best ideas in juvenile justice reform.

I also want to say this: I am open to anybody telling me what else we can do. If anyone has new and better ideas, I’m all ears.

We're also using best practices and new ideas when it comes to another pressing issue: Homelessness.
