This afternoon, I announced that a vaccination site at @Microsoft's Redmond Campus will focus on reaching the highest-risk, eligible older adults. The King County Vaccination Partnership will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine this week.pic.twitter.com/NLCVCQISXk
The site, staffing, and additional support services are being provided by Microsoft, @OverlakeHMC, @EvergreenHosp, and other community partners. @KCPubHealth officials plan on scaling up the Redmond location when more vaccinations become available.
I thank our business, health care, and community partners for helping set up our Redmond vaccination site, and I look forward to more partnerships across the region to get vaccines in arms as quickly as supply allows.
Hi @kcexec , what are we doing in terms of equity? Yes elderly people are higher risk but so are BIPOC and they are disproportionately affected by this virus. I’m also concerned about equity in regards to how people get appointments (online predominately) and those effects...
Thank you Dow and MSFT. My 94 yo grandmother had a really hard, confusing time booking her 2nd shot. This new site streamlined that, and she's getting her second shot Friday. Huge relief to all of us!!
How do you make an appointment? KC public health has a link to a press release that then links to the same old site. MS location isn't listed.

How exactly are you reaching the most vulnerable? My experience as a geriatrician in the community is that those who are not in a facility where vaccine is administered OR do not have adult children finding vaccine for them are most challenged.
I just want to add, our State left out a huge population of people who are medically fragile and /or disabled who live with family / caregiver/nurses at home. They live at home to keep them out of nursing homes or group homes. They should have been included in first level.
you need to hold several mass vaccination sites for teachers... if you want to reopen the schools get the teachers vaccinated!!
