I'm proud to have spearheaded this bold effort in King County to spend roughly $350 million to convert hotels into long-term housing for the homeless. This is an opportunity no one could have seen coming a year ago. We want to capitalize on it.https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-12-15/empty-hotels-find-new-life-as-governments-seek-to-house-homeless …

This is a great start. Another thing I would recommend is making sure they have a regular Social Worker/Case Manager to help them obtain any further assistance they may need.

In that case, they were asked to house them for a few months, were given twice as many people to house as other places. I don't think they had help on site. And one of the temporary residents set the hotel on fire. Also, didn't they give them until well into next year?

Isn't this a common "solution" proposed and sometimes done?

I hope there are strict rules in place; case managers in place, medical / dental assistance in place. Drug counseling in place

$350 million for addicted people that refuse all other services. GTFOH! Once again the tax payers foot the bill one last time before there is no tax payers.
