Trained specialists look for general similarities such as height and spacing of letters or slants. They have an image file on the computer of the signature you placed when you registered.

Forget your signature from when you registered to vote? Your Driver's License signature can be a good guide, as they pull from DOL too.

Our specialists are trained by the Washington State Patrol in signature verification. Additionally, the signature must be verified before the envelope is opened and the ballot removed (so, no, we don’t know how you voted).
