Working with our partners we were able to expand capacity at our SoDo smoke shelter today. Over the weekend we’ve been able to bring dozens of people inside who otherwise would be breathing the harmful wildfire smoke in the air.pic.twitter.com/Z3RfTBHSiJ

Dozens? I see dozens of people experiencing homeless everyday on one block by my home. This is good for the dozens of people that need shelter, but there’s literally thousands that need this.

That’s exactly what this facility is. And, more than 1,000 people have used the isolation and quarantine facilities. That’s a thousand people who didn’t get infected, and probably thousands more they didn’t infect.

I've read close to 80 indoor spots were available. I agree that "dozens" is a totally inadequate standard. Between this and Covid, it's a perfect storm for devastation to our unhoused neighbors. You must do better, sir!
