Today I commit King County to converting the remaining youth detention units at the CFJC to other uses as quickly as possible, and no later than 2025.

The path to Zero Youth Detention gets steeper and steeper from here, and only an all-out, concerted effort from government and community partners will get us to that summit.

We know that the expertise and commitment required to create new, safe, restorative practices is found in our communities. Community has continuously called on us to do more and to go further, and with their help, we will answer that call.

I demand it be taken away. If the people don't get protection then no one else should, unless they pay for it with their own money, that hasn't been embezzled Didn't they say once the police are gone all crime will stop anyway?
