There’s been a persistent rumor that essential workers need some sort of pass or paperwork and that they might even be asked to present it by police. This is simply untrue.

There is no such pass or document and police are not stopping people to ask if they are essential workers. In Spokane, there was an incident of someone impersonating a police officer and asking for documentation. Non-essential workers are permitted to in public — folks can go to the stores that our essential workers are keeping open, after all! — so there would be no need for any kind of pass or documentation.
