This week, many of us again followed the directive to #StayHomeStayHealthy — but let's not forget the critical workers who have been clocking into work every day. I want to express gratitude to:

Spoken language MEDICAL and ASL interpreters. Essential support staff, part of the care team, working without necessary PPE, putting their lives at risk every day to be a conduit between patients and providers. We need PPE to do our work too.

All of the Travel Agents fighting to get full refunds for their client's canceled trips. And not only do we not get paid for the hours it takes to cancel a trip, we also have lost the commission when we booked the trip (and no industry to go back to in the foreseeable future).

Oh definitely. What an upheaval for the industry. Thank you for helping your clients through this challenging time!

Thankful for excellent leadership at the county and state level and all of the civil servants at local and federal levels who are working hard to save lives.

Police & firefighters--first responders don't know what they're getting into when they arrive at a call. Also those who work in jails who can't avoid hands-on and close range contact with others.

Social workers. We’re in hospitals, crisis response units, immigration centers, shelters (as you did mention — thank you!), school districts. Trying to establish a sense of security for the community when the only constant is a state of insecurity is a hard balancing act.

Social workers!
