I assume that part of it is difficulty accessing childcare? I’d be afraid to allow my daughter to play alone in a few years outside out of fear that someone would call CPS, but both my husband & I work more than full time.
Play alone outside, for clarity. We luckily have amazing, affordable childcare, but that’s uncommon. without supervision from adults who have the freedom to go outdoors for extended periods of time, kids kind of have to stay inside?

Easy answer. Support life time sports that teach character development. Golf should be a core curriculum sport in every school. Value in the game. Tennis,Swimming etc. How many 30 year olds throw a Javelin or High Jump? Half the population never plays a single down of football.
