Good morning! Having a great time offering donuts and coffee to Water Taxi commuters this morning. The boats are running on schedule every 20 mins - everybody able to get aboard and no one left on the dock. We’ll get through this together!

Is the water taxi service able to operate on the revenue generated from fares or is this Metro service subsidized as well?

Like most public transportation, there is a degree of farebox recovery and subsidy to cover the cost of operations. Water taxi is funded through a property tax, fares and grants, and the 2017 farebox recovery was 38%.
