One year ago, & I saw the staggering data that inaction would mean hundreds of lives lost within weeks. Speaking with one voice, we put science first. Now, Seattle has the lowest deaths, cases, and hospitalizations. Our collective actions have saved lives.

This week one of the largest vaccine sites in the country will open right here in King County. As vaccine supplies increase we’ll be ready to get every dose into the arms of everyone in our region - up to 22,000 a day at this site alone.

It was so exciting to tour the Mall of Africa---a new space in where immigrants & refugees from the African community can run their businesses & gather together. I look forward to the day, after the pandemic, when it can be experienced at full capacity.

We are #1, again. U.S. News & World Report has named our state the best place in the country. It takes all 7.6 million of us to make Washington the special and dynamic place it truly is.

This project is emblematic of the challenges we are facing in King County with respect to infrastructure – we have many roads in the County like this one, and our funding is extremely limited. Thankfully, with some effort, we did receive reimbursement from FEMA for this project.
