@kcase interesting. How do you plan to handle future major updates? Also does the trial ever reset e.g. on mid-size releases?

@macguru17 We plan to handle future major upgrades the same as we're handling this one: paid upgrade, with discounts for existing customers.

@kcase okay, so you will do a new app for every major release? Have you considered subscriptions?

@macguru17 We did. But we want customers to be able to use our software as long as it runs on their devices, not as long as they pay us.

@kcase very valid point. But they'll not be able to use them at some point, when old apps don't get updated (as you can't *on* the MAS)

@macguru17 (Though as it happens, today I actually _can_ run that old NeXT software on my current hardware, using a simulator.)

@kcase but that's mostly for historical reasons, isn't it? (Not wrong!) For productivity software, people will want a current tool anyway…

Sorry if I wasn't clear! All of our in-app purchases will be one-time purchases (as they are today); none of them are subscriptions.

OmniGraffle 7 has been approved for App Store distribution. (Initially rejected because of our trial IAP; we clarified; approved.)

@kcase what was the misunderstanding?

To be clear: We're starting with OmniGraffle 7 on Mac, but will be bringing free downloads to all our App Store apps on both Mac & iOS.

@kcase So if I own and create in OmniGraffle for iPad, will free Mac version be able to read all of those files?

@kcase Will you also be offering a paid up front/ no IAP option on iOS? EDU/VPP accounts can't purchase IAP content for users.

@leematt06 That's a problem we already face today, since we already use in-app purchases in all our apps. Still a good reason to buy direct.

@kcase For macOS, definitely. Don’t really have an option on iOS right?
