There's a sorta disjunct in Bocchi between how the animation presents everyone's emotions super obviously and how KY the entire cast can be.

I heard the new KаnCоlle anime might legit be committing to Historically Accurate Leyte Gulf, but it turns out there is nothing vaguely of interest beyond the information contained in that sentence

For Sakurai there is a solution and it's as easy as just posting her sketches to insta and getting extremely serendipitous comments and effortlessly just…resuming said relationship. I wonder if even the writer believed what they wrote.

"Remember that time I had a fulfilling relationship with another human being?" Many such cases!

Sakurai is a type, of course: the directionless but not talentless young adult trying to figure out what's missing. There are many variations on this type, and it's common in media because it's common in reality.

Well, more trite than shallow.

It's crazy how seemingly effortless Yamada's command over this medium is, but everyone knows that. Even boxed in the structure of a pretty shallow story she can have moments of such clarity and understanding that they piece right on through.

I'm guessing this is 80% people just not knowing it's out, and 20% people being so turned off by the shit compositing in the trailer that they're not bothering. Well, I'm here to at least say that the compositing may be shit, but the animation is quite charming here and there!

Boy, not many people discussing the new Yamada thing…

Occasionally I'll think of a phrase that implies a line of argumentation I don't actually agree with but I can't quite get out of my head. "Bishoujo poisoning" is one. "Sakuga taqlid" occurred to me the other day.

The virgin hard SF mess vs the chad anime girl school club futurist masterwork

Okay, I'm calling it right now: DIY will somehow have a more coherent elaboration of Mitsuo Iso's epistemic method by its final episode than Spess Kids.

A shame some of the more delicate details in Yasuo Otsuka's crazy effects animation gets lost in the BD of Sоrаtobu Yuurеisеn even if it's probably more correct. Oh well.
