    In Epidemiology these days students really do not know how to collect primary data or how to construct a reliable questionnaire. It is our responsibility to ensure they master these basic skills rather than the newest statistical methods.

    This is an important point for epidemiology too. Some of the questions we want to answer need complex methods, but many of our important questions could be answered much more easily if only we had the right, good quality data.

    7 in 10 Americans have been on Medicaid or had a family on Medicaid.

    Verma says Medicaid is remote to most people and comes into your life when tragedy or bad luck happens. Not really true when ESI is becoming out of reach for most low wage workers and their families — remember 1/3 of kids are on Medicaid nationwide.
