The Lincoln Project becomes part of cancel culture -- idea isn't to get rid of Trump but punish anyone who agrees with Trump (and disagrees with Weaver!) on the issues--Hawley, Cotton, etc.?https://twitter.com/jamespmanley/status/1282329055610712065 …

Since the Trumpers want the Swampy GOP destroyed and the never-Trumpers want the Trumpy GOP destroyed, maybe they should just get on with the job. But the Trumpers didn't try to drive the Swampers from the party. It's looking like the anti-Trumpers want the reverse to happen.

If only you were right. Trumps evil enablers should be shunned forever. But they won’t be. They are in the club, so they can be evil to the people that don’t matter. They will be fine. Their victims, not so much.

Let’s use this analogy of Washington politics as a “swamp”. What if, and stay with me here, “drained” that metaphorical “swamp”?

Um, yep, precisely: When a person make a calculus that their personal benefit justifies enabling a person they know to be a criminal, that’s called “being an accessory.” And yes Mickey, the ~70% of America that disapproves if Trump understands that means his enablers too.
-
And that means, for example, all 52 GOP Senators not named Mitt Romney, who voted to acquit Trump despite having been shown evidence of his criminality, because they judged it in their own best interest to violate their oaths of office.

That is literally how democratic elections work? You kick out the people who messed up and select more competent people? No one's canceling fiscal conservatism or trade policy, just finding a better rep to implement it.

I mean what would lose if all those people no longer had a platform?
