When you read something in Japanese, do you pay attention to the reading of words written in kanji (try to remember the reading, looking it up, ... ) or do you just try to understand the meaning? (1/3)

I've done a complete review of Japanese For Busy People I. It's the latest book I used to learn Japanese. Hopefully this video will help decide if this one is for you or not! :)

We need to listen a lot in order to learn a language. There are 3 stages. The first, achievement as noise becomes meaning. The last, effortless, interesting listening for fun. But in the middle is the hard one, where we feel we're not getting anywhere.

But I tell myself that I should know how to read these words, even if I can tell the meaning from the kanji. 😅 What are your experiences? (3/3)

Since the readings are not necessary for understanding, I tend to just try to understand the sentence. Some words are familiar but I forgot the reading and some words are new but they contain familiar kanji. In both cases, looking up the reading would be unnecessary. (2/3)

    世界の平均気温は上昇し続けています 産業革命以降、1度既に上昇しています この変化はあなたにとっては小さいでしょうが このまま対策をしなければ、今世紀末には4度まで達してしまう その頃、日本でも海面上昇の被害を受ける結果、9割近くの砂浜が消失するとも予測されている

On the other hand, don't believe ppl who say language classes are useless for language learning. These people have never taught or attended a course long term. It's not for everyone but it definitely works.
