An... Interesting take. My understanding was that Astro's time on ISS has a significant commitment to maintenance& upkeep. I'd be impressed if ROSS was able to be adequately maintained w/o crew. (I remember the fear around low crew count after MS-10)

When are they planning to launch the first module?
-
I don't know, but not soon anyway - it will be launched after the deorbit of the ISS.

The absolute denial of Roscosmos, and I'm sure it's dictated by Rogozin himself, of refusing to use the standard IDSS ports Everybody is using - even China - is sign of a one-tracked plan, limited and ultimately destined to immediate obsolescence, even before launch.
-
The rejection of standard ports is dictated by the fact that they weigh more. That's all.

They could use Starship to resupply the station which could make operations and maintenance super cheap.

At that point I really hope they just find a way to continue with ISS! Is just a setback having a space station visited, no matter how they try to justify it...
