What awful people this autism family has to deal with!! Beyond belief horrible & mean neighbors. The fence is there to basically keep their ASD daughter alive b/c she probably has little impulse control & is easily distracted. 😤😤😤

Thank u to #AmyLutz for pointing out that most minimally verbal ASD R cognitively impaired.⭐️⭐️⭐️ There doesn’t seem 2 b an awareness of that. Sadly, most interventions discussed 2complex. Minimally Verbal/Non-Speaking Individuals With Autism: Research

I appreciate it. Before I became a single parent, I was caretaker to both my daughter and a wife w/ severe MS. After marriage fell apart & ended, I spent next 15 years raising our daughter. Still in diapers and nonverbal at the age of 24. 😔 now my house is empty and cold.

Over hyped. We can easily early dx. That’s not the problem. The problem is that ABA, Speech & OT work well for healthy HF kids but a lot less well for the rest. Need more treatment- NOT thousandth “early dx” study.

🔥📄📢: Neuroimmune interactions in #DGBI gut.bmj.com/content/early/ Mucosal sensory neurons sensitized by nociceptive mediators from immune cells (mast cells and eosinophils) & the epithelium ⇒ Triggered by #stress, food, microbiota & impaired barrier function #GItwitter #IBS
Immune activation in irritable bowel syndrome and functional dyspepsia. Food and microbiota-derived antigens gain access to the
subepithelial space through an impaired intestinal barrier function. These antigens and epithelium-derived proteases such as trypsin-3 can activate
mast cells and eosinophils through a variety of mechanisms. Mediators from activated mast cells and eosinophils can subsequently activate sensory
neurons. Finally, in conditions of psychological stress locally secreted CRH from eosinophils can activate mast cells. CRH, corticotropin-releasing
hormone; CRHR1, CRH receptor 1; ECP, eosinophil cationic protein; EDN, eosinophil-derived neurotoxin; Eo, eosinophil; EPO, eosinophil peroxidase;
FcERI, high-affinity IgE receptor; MBP, major basic protein; MC, mast cell; MRGPRX2, Mas-related G-protein coupled receptor member X2; NK1/2,
neurokinin receptor 1/2; PAR2, Protease-activated receptor 2; SP, Substance P; TLR4, Toll-like receptor 4; VPAC1, vasoactive intestinal peptid
Treatments targeting immune activation. Solid lines: a
demonstrated benefit. Dashed lines: potential benefit, but not formally
tested. 5-HT3
, Serotonin 3 receptor; Eo, eosinophil; H1R, histamine 1
receptor; MC, mast cell; PPI, proton-pump inhibitor.

Talking about difficulties stratifying . We should b studying LOSS of language in regressive autism. Once they lose it it rarely returns. What is causing this??? Let’s study it. Im incredulous at the lack out curiosity.

Keeping NYC middle and high schools remote for most of the 20-21 school year was a huge mistake.

So, I am still processing my recent trip to get my daughter updated PT, OT and ST evals. After all of this covid insanity you would think I would have thought to check if it was forcibly masked. I did not check & they required both my daughter & therapist to be masked In 2023😫

Terrible child hunger in north of England!! & this among families in which parents have jobs. 💥💥💥💥Exorbitant fuel costs plus inflation. #PrinceHarry should stop the endless whining about petty slights & talk about this instead.

The dominant industrial globalised #foodsystem controlled by corporations is not a food system, it is an inefficient profit generating commodity system with high high ecological & social costs externalised to society & nature .It is an anti food system spreading hunger & disease

I hear you also. I was a single parent of a nonverbal, profoundly autistic daughter… I only recently managed to place her in a group home. I’m beginning to recover from the PTSD and rediscovering myself as I restart my career.

The thought of finding a group home for two of my boys is terrifying. But I’m told that planning to live forever in order to take care of them is not the most responsible thing to do.
