I feel like there should be kind of tax benefit to being a stay at home mom.

I don’t know about a tax benefit (since that runs the risk of rewarding those who are privileged enough to make that choice) but a more equitable approach might be prioritizing community investments to make accessible myriad cultural, recreational, and educational outlets.

This wouldn't be a problem if wages had tracked with productivity instead of remaining flat since the mid 70's. Dual income is more a necessity than a choice in the modern America.
