''Dem-socialist''? Not in any sense. You're conflating social democracy with democratic socialism. Scandinavian countries are all ranked highly on indices of economic freedom, and the corporate tax rates were *lower* in Scandinavia than in America before the Trump cuts.

Word choices are important. Democratic socialism and social democracy are very different things. Scandinavian countries are not anti-capitalist. As for Sanders, he's referred to himself as a a socialist on numerous occasion.

Well, to the same regards, socialism is not communism either. When Sanders says he’s a socialist, it’s to hit the American consciousness, because that word was use in a negative sense for decades, but the politics he proposes and describes are all social-democratic.
