Got to the spillover room in time to hear @pwbnyc ask about QB bike lane and the city’s connected system for cyclists

.@cmkoslowitz now saying — to the room but especially to @pwbnyc — that she isn’t against bike lanes but is instead against them in the queens boulevard service road and that they take away parking. She thinks they should be in the center median.

I’ve been to many town halls (and watched even more on YouTube, like a herb) and this is a particularly rough one for @NYCMayor. But he is incredibly skilled at these. You can almost see him win even his harshest critics over.

The woman here speaking is against the jail, says the community wasn’t consulted, and brings up a good point about the frustrating aspect of a lot of “community visioning” sessions. Meetings are mostly PR.

“Chancellor Carranza is a top shelf racist,” man says. He says he’s standing up for the Asian community (he’s white, but notes his daughter is Colombian)

“You are the worst mayor that NYC has ever had,” the man, David aren, says after going off on “racist Carranza” and the mayor. He was escorted out.

Now we got Frank Gulluscio from CB 6 who is cracking jokes and drops a Joey Tribiani “how you doing” (not a Wendy Williams one) to thank the mayor for improved library in his neighborhood
