If you are migrating from Twitter to Mastodon, the easiest thing to do is get on desktop and use Fedifinder [fedifinder.glitch.me] or Debirdify [debirdify.pruvisto.org] to download a CSV of who you are currently following.
Both may be slow right now, so please be patient!

These tools search Twitter's API to find info that looks like a Mastodon username in people's names/profiles.
You can import the resulting CSV into your Mastodon account. To manually follow, you need to copy and paste someone's "username@mastodonserver.name" into search or....
