I’ve talked a lot about how the lack of quality, evidence-based doctors is responsible for the rise of misinformation on social media. Well, I’ve met with @YTCreators @YouTube @TeamYouTube higher ups in the past and consistently have told them the same message (1/5).

Do NOT demonitize or label quality-health content as unsafe because that directly cuts reach and allows older/inaccurate/extreme videos to THRIVE. My video on prostate cancer from over a year ago is still demonitized as well as my video on the dangers of YT challenges (2/5).pic.twitter.com/YX37PrmhEb

@YTCreators consistently tells me that they do not label health content as unsafe. Well here is the proof that this is untrue. This is a video of me trying to find my recent videos using search on a public computer (3/5).pic.twitter.com/qXZmZILOtC2 replies 11 retweets 294 likesShow this thread -
For all health creators out there I want you to know that this happens to all of us. I will work hard to make sure that we can put honest medical information without getting punished for it.
@YTCreators really needs to look into this and offer some guidance for us (4/5).4 replies 11 retweets 465 likesShow this thread -
Please
@YTCreators@YouTube look into this and see how our videos are labeled unsafe or even demonetized repeatedly. We want to put better info to the public to fight misinformation (I.e vaccines work!). Tell us what we can do to improve! Thank you for listening to my rant (5/5).pic.twitter.com/MO5QAsVezO16 replies 31 retweets 541 likesShow this thread -

About every few months we push system updates to improve accuracy. When this happens there’s a chance some previously green icons turn to yellow. The system is constantly learning and improving, so please continue to appeal if you think it’s a mistake: https://yt.be/help/NW2d

This is a sufficient response if it’s just the money, it’s not if the system constantly squashes reliable info that can save lives. Gynecology and the medical words I use flag EVERY video I post. White flag your reliable, evidence based creators who are fighting for health.

Talking about the vagina isn't inherently sexual. It's health care information and it's VERY IMPORTANT for people to know about!
