Whenever tech workers speak out like this, people talk about how unprecedented it is. I think about something @lizthegrey told me once: that there is a limited window in which tech workers voices will have this much power, and so there's a lot of responsibility to speak up now.

I remember realizing this was a certain major tech company's goal when I sat in on a meeting with a PM proposing data science as gig work. Managers and shareholders will try to both automate and commodify every type of labor they depend on.
We really need more people in tech that are willing to speak up and do the right thing.
