Good point. I know it's an extremely broad question, but what do the best PR pitches you receive have in common? Are they short and to the point? Do they contextualize why the company is deserving of mention - now? What makes them stand out, even if you don't pursue the idea?
honestly, the ones that stand out most are ones related to my beat! most seem like spam about topics I’ve never covered.

Thanks for the fast reply. It's always a careful balance - not to simply pitch a repeat from the stories a reporter has already done, but to anticipate what else might live beyond, within the confines of a beat. COVID has added some additional complexity to the art and approach.
