the creature went into the catch-and-release trap, ate all the snacks, set off the trap, and somehow escaped without leaving any of the doors open. I am up against a serious houdini critter here

there is a creature (possum? rat?) in the basement. my entire household is terrified and also has Big Ideas about how to catch it. please stay tuned for urgent updates

We had a squirrel in our basement for several days. The metal have-a-heart trap, baited with peanut butter, worked pretty well, and made it pretty easy to release it without worrying about getting bitten.

Lent ours to a neighbor who has not returned it yet, otherwise I’d offer to mail it.
