I've struggled with gripping too tight for years. I'll notice too late into a drawing that I am. Anyone have any tips for breaking that lifelong habit? I know I do it bc it feels like it gives me more control over my lines, buuutt I want to be able to use my hands in 30 years.

Obvs I'm not a doctor but I think the only advice is to.... not do it! set timers on your phone to ding and remind you. Whatever motivates you to set a new habit. (Ofc pain is a good motivator but don't let it get that bad!)

Tattoo artists I've spoken with really struggle with this. The vibrations and weight of the machine can really do terrible things to people's hands/wrists.

That is a whole 'nother set of problems to contend with. At least pencils and brushes are light!
