    When I was choosing a master's program way back in 2007, a prestigious national security program in DC wanted $85,000 in estimated tuition and housing costs in a single year The University of Cambridge, where I went, wanted about $21,000...at $2 USD to every British pound.

    There's lots of journalists on here so this headline spread far and wide. But this is a problem with American masters' degrees writ large because universities can rake in easy money from federal student loan programs that don't protect students from said debt ... (1/2)

    Once again with feeling: Pursuing a career in journalism is like getting a MFA or going after any other creative field. You can make a living, but it’s a huge risk and you will likely go through lots of financial hardship along the way.
