What happens if we exceed the 2 °C temperature level and return to it later by emissions? Are before the same as after an overshoot? Our paper now published in final form:

Our paper on effective radiative forcing in models is our for discussion in Atmospheric Chemistry & Physics . Spread in climate model forcings are narrower for aerosols and CO2 compared to CMIP5

Multi-model analysis of the zero emission commitment from CO2 (i.e. the change in global mean temperature expected to occur following the cessation of net CO2 emissions). Paper open for public discussion.

Looking back, my last decade was like a neural network. Some parts were linear. Some were nonlinear. I never seemed to get enough data, and always got stuck in local minima. There was a lot of learning. I can't explain how any of it worked, but the results came out alright.

Big news! Our paper on physically interpretable neural networks for geoscience is now freely available on arXiv: I think the ideas in this paper open lots of doors for AI/neural networks in geoscience. A few comments on why this is important below:

After a year of work our paper on evaluating performance of historical climate models is finally out! We found that 14 of 17 the climate projections released between 1970 and 2001 effectively matched observations after they were published. 1/19
