Very encouraging for conscious conferences! Attended two conferences in India in last few days ; both single-use-plastic-free, organizers distributed bottles/cups to reuse throughout the meeting. Hope all conferences take such steps and more!

Finally comes to an end. After all the talks, I wonder if engineering meets evolution or is more evolution who meets engineering. Thanks to the organisers and as well as all the great volunteers. Congratulations! 🎉

Devaki Bhaya has convinced me that cyanobacteria (eg Synechocystis) are the SynBio chassis of choice for a whole range of large-scale applications of environmentally interesting traits eg enhanced nitrogen fixation. But better gen tools are needed!

Grand finale of the second day of enjoying a performance of Indian rāgas and other traditional tunes. The beautiful music made me remind the Ravi Shankar concert that I had the privilege to attend in 1986 in Berkeley while I was postdoc-ing in the UC!
